RENAISSONICS Individual Biographies Charles Garth began his career as a ballet dancer. After switching to Early Dance (Renaissance and Baroque court dance and 19th century social dance), he has performed, choreographed, and taught in Europe, South America, Australia, Russia, Japan, South Africa, and throughout the United States. He has danced in Hollywood films and television, and directs early opera productions including the Boston Early Music Festival's production of Monteverdi's Orfeo. Garth has been a member of the faculty of Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, Rutgers University, co-founded the International Early Dance Institute, and for many years directed The Court Dance Company of New York.
