Individual Biographies


Cellist, Reinmar Seidler is an active soloist, chamber musician, and innovative teacher of both modern and period performance styles. Educated at the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, and in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar, he appears as coninuo cellist and soloist with period ensembles across the United States, including the Handel & Haydn Society, Apollo's Fire, ARTEK, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and American Classicla Orchestra. Seidler has appeared as recitalist and clinician at major festival from St. Peterburg to Mexico City to Istanbul. He has recorded a variety of early and contemporary repertoire for Sony/Elektra, Erato, Music and Arts, Koch International, Peer International and Titanic labels, and is presently at work on a new recording of sonatas and concertos of 19th-centure Neapolitan virtuoso cellists Salvatore and Domenico Lanzetti. Also an accomplished conductor, Seidler has directed the Case Western Baroque Orchestra and the Harvard Baroque Chamber Orchestra among others, leading repertoire ranging from Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610 and Bach choral works to symphonies of Beethoven and Schubert. Seidler directed the gala production of Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera which opened the newly-renovated Panama City Opera House in 2004
